A big night of basketball at RB Robson Stadium as both our Panthers squads took on the Wodonga Wolves on home court!

Our Panthers Men delivered an impressive all-round performance, controlling the game from the start to take a strong 80–65 win. A great display of teamwork and composure under pressure 👏

Our Panthers Women started well but couldn’t contain the Wolves’ second-half surge, falling 54–83. Plenty of lessons to take forward as they continue to build momentum early in the season.

🎉 HUGE CONGRATS to our very own Emily Bishop, Cohen Griffiths and Bailey Smith on being invited to the 2025 Basketball Victoria Gold Nugget Camp! 🏀💥

Our athletes will hit the floor in Ballarat on Wednesday 24 (girls) and Thursday 25 (boys) September to showcase their skills against the best U14 talent from across Country Victoria.

This camp is a massive opportunity – from here, Emily, Cohen and Bailey could be selected for some of the biggest junior pathways in Australian basketball:
⭐ Southern Cross Challenge (SCC) – playing against the best from across the country in January 2026.
⭐ State Development Program (SDP) – weekly elite training, camps, and development for 2012 born athletes.

This is the next step on the road to higher-level basketball, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Junior Panthers for making it this far. The grind continues, and the future is bright! 🔥

We are so proud to celebrate Jess Flavell as our Female Coach of the Year! After stepping up from assistant to head coach of our U12 Girls, Jess brought energy, professionalism, and passion to every training and game. Competing in the tough VJL1 division, she led her team all the way to the grand final – an amazing achievement, finishing as runners-up after a season full of growth and grit. Jess has a special gift for building confidence, creating strong team culture, and developing her players both as athletes and as people. Her leadership has inspired her team to love the game and push themselves further than ever before. Jess, you are everything we love about Panther coaching! 💜🐾

Let’s hear it for Jayden O’Brien, our Male Coach of the Year! In his very first season coaching VJBL, Jayden showed passion, resilience, and leadership well beyond his experience. Taking on a VJL3 team that faced some tough early results, Jayden never wavered – he kept his focus on growth, development, and belief. His players responded, improving week by week until they turned into a semi-final team! 🙌 Jayden’s ability to inspire confidence, teach the fundamentals, and build a strong, united group has been nothing short of incredible. His debut season was one to remember, and this award is so well deserved. 💪🐾

This season, her incredible efforts were recognised with selection to the prestigious Country Jamboree in Echuca – a huge honour that shows just how talented and determined she is. Harley has been a dedicated Panther for years, competing this season in our Under 18-2 Boys team while continuing to give his all to the game he loves. He has poured countless hours into coaching Aussie Hoops, guiding junior domestic teams, and leading school holiday clinics – inspiring the next generation of Panthers with his energy, encouragement, and leadership. Harley is not only a standout player but also a role model whose passion and community spirit embody what it means to wear the Panther uniform with pride. 🐾🙌
