JUNIOR PANTHERS

Wallan Basketball (WBI) provides pathways for players that wish to extend their basketball beyond their Saturday domestic competition.  WBI are very fortunate to be affiliated with Basketball Victoria Country, which means we can attend all of the skills days and follow the pathways of Vic Country, however we also have the opportunity for our players to participate in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL).  This provides our players with the best of both country and metro basketball experiences, which ensures that our junior players are given as much opportunity to play and develop their basketball as they wish.

The rep ready clinics are an opportunity for players that have not played representative basketball in the past, to participate in skills clinics in the lead up to the try outs to develop their skills.  The clinics are designed to give the new players an experience of the types of skills and drills that will be tested at the try outs.  Participation in the rep ready clinics do not guarantee that the player will be selected into a team.  In 2024 the clinics will be held during the September school holidays.  For more information, please email juniorrep@wallanbasketball.com.au.

Participation in this program is subject to the various operational and competition programs, which can be found here.

The VJBL is arguably the largest competition of its kind, offering a graduated system of junior basketball competition giving opportunities for players to play against the best basketball players in the state.  The premier competition is the Victorian Junior State Championship (“VC”) and following that are the Victorian Junior Basketball Leagues (Division 1, 2, 3 & 4) and regional competitions.

The VJBL season starts in November and finishes in August with finals in September, with no games during school holidays.
